Spline-reinforced construction
When Pearl designed the Elite Series congas, they had durability in mind. To accomplish this, each conga is made with spline joints. These joints add an extra piece of wood to each stave joint, which increases the total surface area of the joint. This is important because more glue can be applied to the joint, creating a stronger bond that most other instruments simply can't match.
Easy-playing rims are a breeze to tune
When you're playing hand drums, how the rims feel can make or break your playing experience. Pearl's Contour Crown rims are exceedingly comfortable on the hands and keep the heads firm and even. Made from polished steel, these rims look great and perform well. The Contour Crown rims come equipped with Pearl's exclusive Self-Aligning Washer System that isolates the tension hooks from the inner walls of the lugs. This allows for easy tuning and greater tuning stability.
